The Horror of Destruction of World War 111

At least 8.5 million soldiers and at least 13 million civilians died in the First World War from 1914 to 1918. Many more people died in the Second World War from 1937 to 1945. At least 20 million soldiers and 45 million civilians lost their lives. The death toll in World War III will increase many times over. The death toll of civilians will far exceed the death toll of soldiers fighting. Due to the development of technology, World War III will not be limited to infantry, airmen and naval forces. In addition to deaths from bombs and missiles, cyber-attacks and the destruction of geostationary satellites will disrupt electricity supply, public transport, all banking transactions, the Internet, telephone services, health services, water and food distribution, etc. As a result, countless civilians who have nothing to do with war will also die of starvation and without medical care. No one can say how many deaths will occur if chemical and biological warfare and even small-scale nuclear weapons are used locally.

A Possibility or a Reality?

Worldwide War is no longer a distant possibility, it is now largely a reality. When the war will start, where it will start, which country will be on which side, and whether the necessary preparations for war will be completed in time - these are the questions that are now with the leaders of capitalist states and capitalist military. While Trump-led US waging trade war against China and trying to convert it to a full-scale military activity, the Chinese imperialist government responded on Tuesday, "If war is what the US wants, be it a tariff war, a trade war or any other type of war, we're ready to fight till the end".

The US-led military alliance NATO has announced that it is already preparing for World War III.

On October 24, after the Israel-Iran conflict broke out, Donald Trump said, "World War III is just a matter of time." British Defense Secretary Grant Shapps said, "We must prepare for all-out war with China, Russia, Iran and North Korea within the next five years." Grant also said in his speech, "World War III could break out in the near future." Last August, Russian President Putin said, "World War III will not be limited to Europe." China has said that Taiwan will be annexed to mainland China by 2027. According to the US 'Commission on National Defense Strategy', a world war could break out in 2027 if China attacks Taiwan. For a year Gaza and the West Bank have suffered Israeli assaults, a brutal assault, identified by the International Court of Justice, as plausibly genocide. Israel has just kept piling on the death and destruction.

The US keeps shipping the bombs and missiles, providing military support from its naval forces, satellite intelligence, communications interception and funding the Israeli state machine. Profits of the US military industrial complex soar.

The Israeli state and war machine would have collapsed long ago without US finances, arms and munitions. Israel’s economy is at a standstill with hundreds of thousands of reservists called on to carry out its holocaust.

Australia political leaders grovel to the US. They refuse to stand with Palestine.

Every aspect of Israeli aggression meets heroic resistance by Palestinians and Lebanese patriots. Many have given their lives to defend their people and countries.

Palestinians and Lebanese developed some organisations to defend them from brutal Israeli violence. Some regional countries stand up to US and western bullying and Israeli attacks.

The US and other western imperialisms try to outlaw resistance to Israeli attacks, dispossession, occupation and invasion. Australian governments try to ban support of Palestine’s national liberation and Lebanese national self-defence. It’s futile.

People and countries across the world have been fired up in Solidarity with Palestine. Mass marches of millions have taken to streets. In the UN 65% of countries oppose Israel’s aggression, while just 8% stand with Israel and the US.

Every new horror Israel inflicts, adds to the people and countries revolted by their brutality and united in opposition to it. They are surrounded by opposition.

Now Solidarity with Lebanon has been further inflamed. People get to understand more and more about what is driving such horrors.

Western imperialism is determined to disrupt and dominate the oil rich Middle-east and East-West, Asia-Europe trade routes. Rivalry with China’s Belt and Road developments intensified in 2023 with the launch of the G20s India-Middle East-Europe Corridor project. US and other western imperialisms use the Zionist settler-colonist state to secure their interests, costing oceans of blood and destruction.

Common people world-wide experience various hardships inflicted through debt, exploitation, local tyranny, corruption, and war. People are squeezed under national debt and exploitation of natural riches. Poverty and war stalk the globe igniting national and anti-imperialist liberation struggles.

People revolt to get local tyrants and imperialist collaborators off their backs. Sri Lankans threw out the government a year ago. Bangladeshis did it in recent months. People from Nigeria and Kenya to Kashmir and Kanaky (New Caledonia) have risen in recent months. They rise against US and other imperialisms and local collaborating tyrants for the people and their National liberation.

People are driven to unite against their enemies.
